  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time, but you will retain access until the end of the billing period.

5. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any manner that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
  • Transmit any advertising or promotional material, including any “junk mail,” “chain letter,” “spam,” or any other similar solicitation.
  • Impersonate or attempt to impersonate Heads Examined! or a Heads Examined! employee, another user, or any other person or entity.
  • Engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone’s use or enjoyment of the Site or which, as determined by us, may harm Heads Examined! or users of the Site or expose them to liability.

10. Contests

Heads Examined! may host contests on the Site. The following rules apply:

  • The winner and runner-up will be determined by the collective evaluations of readers, not by Heads Examined!
  • No prizes will be awarded in weeks when there are fewer than ten submissions or when no submission receives a top rating from more than 20 readers.
  • The announcement of the winner and runner-up will be final.
  • The winner will receive a six-month subscription to Heads Examined! The runner-up will receive a one-month subscription.
  • Submissions must be received by Wednesday at noon PST.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heads Examined!, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Site or any content on the Site, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and any disputes arising out of or relating to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Your State, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
